Coughlin Environmental Service, LLC (CES) was formed in 2005 to meet the ever changing needs of the consulting engineering market by providing personalized high quality client services in the civil and environmental engineering field.  CES is located in Stoneham, MA making our firm centrally located to the eastern New England area that we service.  Our engineer’s are registered in all New England states and are actively involved in local professional organizations.  CES’s diverse and extensive portfolio of engineering services facilitates project progression from conception through construction in an expeditious manner without loss of continuity.  CES has expertise in numerous areas of civil engineering including Site Development, Wastewater, Water Resources, Stormwater/Wetlands, Transportation, and Asset & Facility Management. 

Coughlin Environmental Services, LLC (CES) prides itself on being focused on the needs and the time constraints of its Clients.  Our company motto is “Quality and Client First” and we take that pledge very seriously.  Our Company Principal and our Project Managers and engineers know that timing can be extremely critical for the progress of a project and its economics and they have built their reputations on making sure a quality project is delivered complete and “on time”. 

Resisting the large firm mentality where clients no longer know who is working on their projects or even who to contact, CES provides a personalized approach to its client relations delivering high quality engineering evaluation, design and construction management services while also avoiding the high costs of larger engineering firms.  Our Project Managers are always available to the client to update and detail work progress and explain project specifics.

Our personnel have extensive experience dealing with state, federal and municipal regulatory entities, allowing CES to work effectively with all regulatory issues. These relationships grow from our integrity and commitment to detail. Civil engineering projects are planned and designed to optimize the client’s goals while minimizing impacts to the environment and the community. Our civil engineering staff are committed to providing superior and timely designs and meeting tight deadlines with a high sensitivity to project costs.

The Company Principal, Daniel J. Coughlin, P.E. has over 40 years in the engineering consulting industry and is registered in MA, RI, NH and CT.  Mr. Coughlin has a strong educational background with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a tri-major concentrating on water and wastewater treatment, hydraulics/hydrology and water resource engineering.  He has authored numerous paper and articles and has been responsible for the design of engineered systems with values over $1 billion.
